You're reading: OSCE monitors again complain about restrictions on them

The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic on April 25 once again prevented Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe monitors from accessing the eastern part of Shyrokyne, a village 20 kilometers from Mariupol, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine wrote on Facebook.

“These are unacceptable interference[s] with the mandate of the SMM and jeopardize the process of establishing the demilitarized zone. Access for the OSCE SMM is not a subject for negotiations. It’s the Mission’s duty and task,” a Facebook statement from the SMM quoted SMM deputy head Alexander Hug as saying.
