The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) representatives in Donbas will observe the removal of military hardware with a caliber of less than 100mm, provided an agreement has been signed to that effect, OSCE Special Monitoring Mission deputy chief Alexander Hug said.

If the relevant agreement is signed, the OSCE will be on site to observe progress, Hug told Interfax on July 28.

It is important to distinguish between the movement of weapons and the removal of weapons, he said. Removal requires us to make sure that the weapons will not be redeployed and re-used, he said.

The OSCE mission representatives will also attend a Contact Group meeting in Minsk on Aug. 3, he said.

Shyrokyne and the removal of tanks and small-caliber weapons will be at the forefront, Hug said.
