An electronic petition has been registered on the official website of Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko that demands the appointment of the head of the Odesa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, as the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

The appropriate electronic petition was submitted on Sep. 3, and was registered under No 22/002010-ep. The petition’s author is Yuriy Volodymyrovych Nataluha.

The collection of signatures started on Sep. 3, and on the first day so far, the petition has been signed by 283 people out of the 25,000 required to sign it. The signatures’ collection must be completed in 91 days.

The current legislation on electronic petitions states that public support of any petition addressed to the country’s president, parliament or cabinet of ministers must reach the threshold of 25,000 people, whose signatures must be collected within three months of the day the petition was published.

The law states that if the petition has gained the necessary number of votes, it will be considered within ten working days of the date of publication of a statement confirming the start of the consideration period.

The petition section on the official presidential website began functioning late in August.
