You're reading: Police: Euro 2012 finals passes off smoothly in Kyiv

No breaches of public order have been registered during the final match of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, according to Kyiv police.

“There were no incidents and breaches of public order during the
match,” Interfax-Ukraine learned at the main department of the Interior
Ministry in Kyiv.

Meanwhile, some 50,000 fans continue to celebrate Spain’s victory in
Kyiv fan zone. Some 53,000 football fans watched the final at the
Olympiysky Stadium in Kyiv.

A total of 7,300 law enforcement officers patrolled the streets of
Kyiv on Sunday, the day of the final match of the European Football
Championship. Mounted police and police dogs were also involved in
maintaining the public order.
