You're reading: Police: Protestors set up seven checkpoints in Sloviansk

The headquarters of the police department and security service remain occupied in Sloviansk, a city in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. Seven checkpoints were set up by protestors, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said on its website on April 15.

The ministry said that activists continue to control the building of
the Donetsk regional administration, as well as the police department in
Horlivka.

The Interior Ministry denied reports that the Petrovsky and Mariyinsky district police departments were seized in Donetsk.

“All other regional departments are working in an orderly manner.
Police are handling documents and citizens’ reports about offences, the
Interior Ministry said.
