KHARKIV - The police removed the tents put up by participants in the unlimited protest against the adoption of the law on the basis of the state language policy in central Kharkiv on July 4.

“We, citizens who care, began an unlimited protest action and put up
the first tent in the Freedom Square at 10 a.m. on July 3, intending to
stay there all night. Suddenly the police appeared. The two tents were
seized from us, and my mother, myself and Roman Cheremsky, the head of
the Kharkiv Union of Ukrainian Youth, were detained and taken to the
Dzerzhynsky police station. We were released around 3 p.m. Two
administrative protocols were made against each of us. We were accused
of violating the procedures governing the organization of rallies and
resisting police,” Dmytro Pylypets, one of the protesters, told
Interfax-Ukraine.

Pylypets also said the protesters intend to continue the protest on July 4.
