Moscow, January 2 (Interfax) - A Ukrainian woman has been detained on suspicions of killing her common-law husband, a U.S. citizen, in the center of Moscow, a police spokesman told Interfax on Thursday.
The police said the 35-year-old citizen of Ukraine stabbed her 63-year-old common-law husband in a fight at a rented apartment on Novolesnaya Street at approximately 4:30 a.m. on January 1.
The man died instantly.
The incident report was filed on Wednesday evening, and the woman was taken into custody.
The American was working in Moscow on contract with a commercial company.
The city police press center confirmed the murder and the detention of the suspect to Interfax.
