You're reading: Poll: Over 10% of residents of Donbas support Halychyna’s secession from Ukraine

Most Ukrainians have stressed the need to preserve Ukraine's territorial integrity, while 8% of residents of Donbas would like the region to be seceded from the country, according to a study conducted by the Rating Sociological Group.

According to the survey, 84% of respondents are against Halychynas’
secession from Ukraine, and 90% are against the secession of Crimea and
Donbas. At the same time, 5% called for the separation of Halychyna,
with less than 1% in the country’s western regions, but more than 10% in
Donbas and southern regions.

Crimea’s secession from Ukraine is supported by only 3%, with less
than 1% in western regions, 4% in Donbas and one in ten respondents in
southern regions.

Only 2% of respondents support the secession of Donbas from Ukraine, with about 2% in western regions and 8% in Donbas.

The study was conducted from August 8 to August 18, 2012.

A total of 2,000 respondents aged over 18 were interviewed.
