President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, on a working visit in Riga, has discussed the European integration of Ukraine and reforms in the country with Austrian Federal Chancellor Werner Faymann and European Parliament President Martin Schulz.

“The sides discussed the topical issues of European integration, in particular the process of ratification of the Association Agreement with Ukraine by the EU states,” reads a statement posted on the website of the Ukrainian president.

Poroshenko stressed the importance of Ukraine’s getting clear signals for obtaining a visa-free regime with the EU. The head of state exhorted the Austrian Chancellor and the European Parliament President to unity and solidarity with Ukraine in its struggle for peace.

The parties also discussed the progress of reforms in Ukraine.

“The president noted the efforts aimed at de-tycoonization, democratization and fight against corruption,” the report reads.
