You're reading: Poroshenko, Belgian prime minister agree to continue discussions on MH17 investigation

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said that he has come to an agreement with the Prime Minister of Belgium Charles Michel on continuing the ongoing consultations on the investigation into the MH17 disaster within the international investigative group, which includes Ukraine and Belgium.

“The parties paid special attention to the coordination of actions in the process of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, support for the position of Ukraine at a meeting of the EU Council, coordination of actions in the course of the joint steps in the initiative of establishing the international tribunal for the investigation into the MH17 disaster, which must be approved by the UN Security Council’s decision,” Poroshenko’s press service reported on the results of his meeting with Michel in Brussels on Aug. 28.

All 298 people onboard were killed when a Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 (flight number MH17) was shot down over eastern Ukraine in territory controlled by militants on July 17 last year.
