You're reading: Poroshenko dismisses 30 chiefs of district state administrations all over Ukraine as part of lustration law

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has dismissed 30 heads of district state administrations in accordance with the law on lustration.

In particular, eight heads of district state administrations in Donetsk Oblast, seven – in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia Oblasts in each, four in Odesa Oblast, two in Sumy Oblast, and per one in Rivne and Kharkiv Oblasts were dismissed under president’s decrees posted on his website on Oct. 30.

Law on lustration of power stipulates legal and organizational grounds for verification of civil servants, persons equal to them and local government officials “in order to restore trust in authorities and create conditions for the establishment of a new system of governmental bodies under the European standards”.
