Ukraine's Economic Development and Trade Minister Petro Poroshenko believes that Ukraine and Belarus will soon settle the issue of Belarusian products import to the Ukrainian market.

"I am sure that these issues (the supply of Belarusian dairy products to Ukraine) will be resolved," he told journalists in Kyiv on April 10.

According to Poroshenko, Kyiv and Minsk signed a protocol in Kyiv on April 10 as a result of the talks on the supplies of Belarusian dairy products to Ukraine.

"Today, a delegation from Belarus has completed the negotiations, and we have demonstrated significant progress," he said.

The protocol suggests Belarus take specific steps to resolve this issue, the minister said.

He stressed that Ukraine did not doubt the safety of Belarusian dairy products.

As reported, the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine suspended from March 1, 2012 imports to Ukraine of milk and dairy products from Belarus, as well as animals susceptible to African swine fever, and products made from them.

In March experts from the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine checked Belarus control system for meat and dairy products.
