Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services John McCain to discuss Ukraine-U.S. relations and the situation in Donbas.

“The head of state has expressed his intent to discuss current developments in the peaceful settlement in Donbas at meetings with leaders of the European Union and G7 nations during his participation in the 70th UN General Assembly,” according to a statement by Ukraine’s presidential press service published on Sept. 23.
