You're reading: Poroshenko says other versions of parliamentary coalition not even hypothetically considered

Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko states that the existing format of parliamentary coalition will be kept without any doubt.

“Any versions of the coalition other than that which is existing now are not being considered – even hypothetically,” Poroshenko said during the extended Cabinet of Ministers meeting in Kyiv on Sept. 8.

A special kind of responsibility for the situation in the country currently lies with the parliamentary coalition. “An attempt by one of the coalition participants aimed at destroying it from the inside has gone nowhere. The four political forces have reaffirmed their commitments to work jointly in the name of Ukraine,” Poroshenko said, adding that he hails such a decision of the four members of the coalition.

Last week, Oleh Liashko’s Radical Party declared its exit from the parliamentary coalition and move to the opposition ranks.

Now, the coalition consists of four parties – the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, People’s Front, the Batkivschyna faction and the Samopomich Union.
