You're reading: Poroshenko: separatists receive $500 each for assault on administrative buildings

Everyone participating in the assault on administrative buildings in eastern Ukraine receives $500 each, Ukraine's presidential candidate and non-affiliated MP Petro Poroshenko has said.

“Today, we have proof that every separatist participating in the
assault receives $500 for it. Every participant in permanent rallies
receives Hr 500,” he said on the air of Volyn-based Avers TV-company on
Sunday.

Poroshenko said that money is being distributed by “the members of
the ‘Family’ of the previous president,” referring to the associates of
ex-President Viktor Yanukovych.

According to the politician, “names and telephone numbers of the
‘titushky’ [thugs hired by the previous government] have already been
established, along with the ways they use to relocate.”

He also said that mid-level directors in law enforcement agencies,
first of all in Donetsk region, are under the influence of the
separatists – the former heads in the region.

Poroshenko said those who have illegally earned money used for these
unlawful actions, and those who distribute this money, must be detained
and brought to justice.
