Three Ukrainian troops were killed in the Donetsk airport on Dec. 29, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.

“Unfortunately, the information on the three casualties is confirmed. It’s
true, but it’s war,” he told a press conference in Kyiv on Dec. 29.

The militants have retreated and “the attack has been repelled by our
military,” Poroshenko said, adding that the attackers had “lost 14 people.”

He said that several dozens of militants attacked the Donetsk airport.

“Donetsk airport is under our complete control, and it will remain so,” the
president stressed.
