PARIS - Ukraine insists on delivering humanitarian aid to the residents of the occupied territories in the east of the country with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), providing the ICRC representatives with access to the hostages and their involvement in a search for missing persons, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has stated.

‘I clearly stressed that the ICRC representatives must, first of all, have the possibility of providing humanitarian aid Ukrainians receive in the occupied territories and, secondly, the ICRC representatives should have access to the hostages illegally held in the occupied territories,’ Poroshenko told journalists after a meeting of the leaders of Ukraine, France, Germany and Russia in Paris.

‘We should also immediately involve the ICRC representatives in a search for missing people,’ the official said.
