Amman, April 16 - Jordanian investors coming to Ukraine's pharmaceutical industry can significantly reduce prices for medicines in Ukraine, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Petro Poroshenko has said.

"We’re not necessarily talking about the construction of a new plant. The issue could concern the investment of money in Ukrainian production and the provision of respective technology… And this will eventually lead to better quality, increased competition and a reduction in prices for medicines as a result of this process. Medicines will also be purchased using budget funds," he told Ukrainian journalists in Amman (Jordan) on Monday.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that Poroshenko had headed the Ukrainian delegation of government members in talks with the German government.

As reported, Hikma Pharmaceuticals, the largest pharmaceutical company in Jordan, is planning to invest more than $100 million in Ukraine.
