The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office has identified the snipers who shot people on Instytutska Street in Kyiv during recent street protests, First Deputy Prosecutor General Mykola Holomsha said.

TSN television service quoted Holomsha as saying on Tuesday that some foreign citizens were also being checked for responsibility for shooting people in the center of Kyiv.

The prosecutors have no facts indicating that the snipers could have been hired by the former opposition.

Holomsha said the law enforcement agencies possess lists of people suspected of shooting demonstrators and the addresses of where the snipers had been accommodated. The snipers’ weapons have been seized and are being checked by investigators.
