Ukraine's financial-economic future may be a subject of new negotiations on Ukraine in Geneva, says Russian State Duma international affairs committee head Alexei Pushkov.

“I believe Ukraine’s financial-economic future may be a subject of
Geneva II, but then the West will have to admit a number of things it
does not want to admit now. It should admit that some of Russia’s
reasons and arguments not only deserve attention but should be put on
paper,” Pushkov told journalists in Moscow on Thursday.

“If Russia doesn’t receive a positive answer to a number of its
concerns, starting from the disarmament of armed units, then it is
unlikely to agree to financial-economic interaction with the West that
is actually necessary for turning Ukraine out of a country experiencing
colossal difficulties into a European country normally functioning in
economic terms,” he said.

“I think the issues simply cannot be resolved without Russia,” Pushkov said.
