You're reading: Rescuers: One passenger killed in aircraft emergency landing in Donetsk

Donetsk – One passenger was killed in an emergency landing of a South Airlines aircraft that was flying from Odesa to Donetsk. The aircraft made an emergency landing at Donetsk Sergey Prokofiev International Airport on Wednesday evening. 

“According to preliminary information, there were 36 passengers on board of the plane. Information about the crewmembers is being checked. One of the passengers was killed and information on two more people is being checked,” the press service of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine told an Interfax-Ukraine reporter on Wednesday.

According to the state service, the rest of the passengers were rescued by the employees of the emergencies service. All of the passengers were transported to the airport.

The state service also said that, according to preliminary information, during the emergency landing the aircraft went outside the runway, turned over and broke apart.
