Activists of the ultra radical Right Sector on Thursday promised to storm the headquarters of Ukraine's Higher Administrative Court if two of the three names were not taken off the list of candidates for court chairman, a lawmaker said after talks with the activists, who were picketing the building in Kyiv.

Right Sector wanted Mykola Kobyliansky and Oleksandr Nechytailo to be struck off the list, Serhiy Vlasenko said.

Vlasenko, a lawyer and member of the High Council of Justice, argued
that those were unfair demands as, under the law, electing the chairman
of the Higher Administrative Court is the prerogative of its judges. “I
also have questions for some of the judges, but it is a sacred right of
the judges themselves to elect their head,” he said.

At that moment the judges were getting ready to vote, with the candidate list having been approved.
