You're reading: Russia urges partners to condemn Kyiv operation in southeastern Ukraine

The Russian Foreign Ministry has expressed profound concern about the operation of Ukrainian security services in southeastern Ukraine.

“We are profoundly concerned about the operation launched by Ukrainian security services in collaboration with army units in southeastern Ukraine. There have been casualties,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website on Tuesday.

“It is a crime to fight one’s own people demanding the fulfillment of their lawful rights,” the ministry said.

“Ukraine is plunging into nationalist chaos once again. The ongoing events demonstrate the stubborn unwillingness of the Kyiv authorities to begin a dialogue with Ukrainian regions the country needs so much,” the statement runs.

“No one should stay indifferent to the tragic escalation of the Ukrainian situation,” the ministry emphasized.

“We urge our international partners to condemn the anti-constitutional actions of the so-called new Ukrainian authorities which are fraught with a catastrophe,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
