You're reading: Russian Defense Ministry: Kyiv’s claims alleging Russian plane brings down Ukraine’s Su-25 absurd (UPDATED)

Ukraine's claims alleging that on July 16 a plane of the Russian Armed Forces shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 are absurd, a high-level representative of the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax-AVN on July 17.

“This is absurd, as well as all previous accusations of the Kyiv authorities towards the Russian Defense Ministry,” the representative said.

“Almost daily we are ‘exposed’ with promises of ‘irrefutable proof.’ And every time this ‘evidence’ disappears somewhere and the embarrassment is covered with new, even more absurd accusations,” the representative said.

“It is not necessary to be a profound expert to understand, by looking at biographies of the current military leadership, not to mention the so-called counter-terrorism operation, that these people do not have a military education, not to mention practical experience in organizing or planning and battle application of troops and arms,” the representative said.

According to the representative, “every time these ‘commanders’ covered their mediocrity leading to hundreds killed and thousands injured with actions of the Russian Armed Forces.”

“This is no surprise taking into account the accusations of official Kyiv already voiced that Maidan and the coming economic catastrophe, and probably harvest failure in future, are the result of intrigues of the Russian special services,” the defense Ministry representative said.
