You're reading: Russian energy minister: Question about Ukraine at Gazprom board meeting was ‘informational’

Gazprom's relations with Ukraine were only brought up at a meeting of the gas giant's board of directors in the form of an "informational" report, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told journalists after the meeting.

The meeting’s agenda included an item on “the current state and outlook for mutual relations between Gazprom and economic entities in Ukraine in the gas area.”

“This is a purely technical, informational issue. We heard information. We will see how the situation develops in future, when the gas in underground storage runs out,” Novak said.

“The issue of mutual relations with Ukraine in the gas area was heard. The decision was made to examine it in more detail at another board of directors meeting,” a Gazprom spokesman said about the meeting earlier.
