Tbilisi - Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has said that Georgia and Ukraine enjoy very close relations.

"A lot of changes took place during this period, but I want to say that the relations between the peoples have never been better than now. I can confidently say that this is the result of our joint work for the development of our countries," the Georgian president said at a meeting with Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister Sergiy Tigipko and Ukrainian businessmen in Tbilisi on Friday.

Saakashvili thanked Ukraine for what had been done to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
