The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine is studying the materials on all the suspects of involvement into the February shooting at protesters in Kyiv center, the main suspect is former head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Oleksandr Yakymenko, who fled the country, SBU chief Valentyn Nalyvaichenko has said.

 He said this in an interview with the 112 Ukraine television channel on Sept. 29.

According to Nalyvaichenko, criminal proceedings have been launched also against the heads of the departments that directly organized and carried out the plan of placing sniper teams on rooftops, invited the Russian FSB officers to participate in the planning and execution of the crime.

“All the materials in respect of these people are in the Prosecutor General’s Office,” he added.

Nalyvaichenko also recalled that leaders of the special police which carried out this crime were detained.

“The officers of the Security Service, who may have been involved in this crime, are in Ukraine and go in for questioning to the Prosecutor General’s Office,” he said.

“We can talk about the people who were shooting. The independent investigation and arrests took place. The trials will follow,” the SBU chief summed up.
