You're reading: Sergei Aksyonov believes Activ Solar’s projects are frauds

Acting head of the self-proclaimed Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov has said that projects to build solar power plants in Crimea by Activ Solar are frauds.

“There are questions to the registration of the enterprises – they received land and help on the territory of Crimea free of charge. I believe that these projects are fake ones – Activ Solar received credits from Ukrainian state banks, created benefits for itself and received all management rights with the said benefits, the feed-in tariff, which is 10 times more than electricity generated in a conventional way costs. There is no such a precedent in any country,” he told reporters on Wednesday.

Aksyonov added that now Crimean Prosecutor General’s Office is studying the document linked to the functioning of Activ Solar on the peninsula.

“As soon as the check is finished, everything will happen in line with Russian law, and this will entail criminal proceedings, not via the nationalization,” he said.

He said that the operation of Activ Solar was aimed at enrichment of the previous Ukrainian leadership.

As reported, Activ Solar built solar power plants with the capacity of 406.96 MW in Crimea (110 MW have not yet been connected to the networks).
