Donetsk - Ukraine has handed over to the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic the bodies of two militants killed fighting Ukrainian forces, a DPR Defense Ministry spokeswoman said on Friday.

Liliya Rodionova, spokeswoman for prisoners of war affairs, told reporters neither body had been identified yet.

The DPR recovered the two bodies in the course of a swap in which it turned over to the Ukrainian side the bodies of 22 Ukrainian soldiers, which would be taken to a mortuary in Dnipropetrovsk for identification and handover to their families, Rodionova said.

She said the DPR was handing over to Ukraine all bodies and body fragments that it had picked up and that it was also exhuming Ukrainian soldiers’ bodies that had been buried.
