The anti-terrorist operation zone in eastern Ukraine sees daily ceasefire breaches, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has said, calling on the sides in the Donbas conflict to abide by the Minsk agreements.

“Although the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) is trying today to calm down the situation around Shyrokyne and the Donetsk airport, we see violations of the ceasefire every day,” he told a security forum in Kyiv on May 29.

The implementation of the peace accords for Ukraine, reached at talks in the Belarusian capital Minsk in February, is the only way to settle the Donbas conflict, the German minister said.
