The election program of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during the first year of his presidency has been largely unfulfilled, but remains relevant, experts have stated.

“The election program of Petro Poroshenko, on the one hand, has been largely unfulfilled, however, on the other hand, it remains urgent. The obligations included in the program contain a significant reform potential,” reads a study by the International Center for Policy Studies, presented at a press conference in Kyiv.

According to the experts, by the implementation of the key election promises Poroshenko could return the society’s and the international community’s confidence in the Ukrainian government.

“The continuation of corrupt practices, the imitation of reforms and aggressive rhetoric might, on the contrary, promote rapid discredit to the incumbent Ukrainian authorities, strengthen socio-economic and later political crisis events. The president should move from words to actions and really demonstrate he is capable of not only declaring but also working in a new way,” the study reads.
