Ukrainian Education and Science, Youth and Sports Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk has said that he supports the idea of introducing differentiation in scholarships at higher education establishments.
"We asked to draft two kinds of scholarships: the first one is social (for certain categories of students who would receive the scholarship in any case), the second one is aimed at encouraging [students]," he said during a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.
According to the minister, the sizes of the scholarships will depend on the amount of points received by a student for examinations and it will be established regularly after examinations.
Tabachnyk said that at the moment the Ukrainian national students’ self-government agency is working on this initiative.
