The Cabinet of Ministers has selected ten cities that will implement a program of modernization of the infrastructure in the framework of cooperation with the World Bank on improving the quality of drinking water and the treatment of household solid waste. Vice Prime Minister, Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Services Volodymyr Hroisman told reporters the decision was made at a Cabinet meeting on April 23.

“Today the government has approved that ten cities will participate in this project. As for water, these are Kyiv, Donetsk, Kramatorsk, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kolomyia. As for household solid waste, this is Kharkiv,” he said.

Hroisman noted that the program of cooperation with the World Bank foresees funding of $350 million.

“One important thing is that the interest rate on all loans will be 0.7%,” he added.
