You're reading: Two Ukrainian servicemen hurt in shootings with militants on Krymske village

Two Ukrainian servicemen have been hurt in the village of Krymske in the Luhansk region, Luhansk region state administration head Hennadiy Moskal has said.

Ukrainian servicemen clashed with the militants, which had taken positions in Sokilnyky nearby, in the tuberculosis sanatorium area on the outskirts of Krymske at approximately 6 p.m. on July 6.

“Mortars and grenade launchers were used in addition to small arms. Mines fired from Sokilnyky exploded in Krymske residential areas. The fighting lasted for two hours. None of the civilians was hurt, but two Ukrainian servicemen suffered injuries in the shootouts,” the governor’s press service reported on July 7.

The injured soldiers were taken to hospital. Their injuries are minor, and their lives are not in danger.

Last night also saw hostilities in Troitske in the Popasna district, Stakhanivtsi, Rodyna, Katerynivka and on the Bakhmutka road near the 29th roadblock. The fire exchanges were local and did not lead to serious consequences.
