You're reading: Ukraine on first day of gas reverse resumption from Poland imports almost 4 million cubic meters gas

National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz Ukrainy on April 15, on the first day of resumption of reverse gas supplies through Poland, imported about 3.9 million cubic meters (mcm) of natural gas.

These figures are taken from the data of operational monitoring by Gaz-System S.A., Poland’s gas transportation operator.

Imports of natural gas from Hungary, according to this country’s
operator FGSZ Ltd, since the beginning of this year to April 15 had not
been performed.

Earlier Naftogaz Ukrainy, Ukrtransgaz and RWE Supply&Trading
(Germany) announced the resumption of gas imports from the EU from April
15.

As reported, Ukraine from November 2012 started to import natural gas
from Germany through Poland under the agreement with RWE (Germany).
From April 2013 it started taking deliveries of natural gas from
Hungary. In addition, negotiations are underway with the gas
transportation operators of Slovakia and Romania on the possibility of
supplying natural gas to Ukraine’s gas transportation system.

The framework agreement between Naftogaz Ukrainy and Germany’s RWE
foresee the delivery to Ukraine of up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas
annually.
