The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has confirmed that Ukraine still expects the European Union to launch a visa-free regime with Ukraine in 2016.

“From our side there are no adjustments to the possible terms of visa regime introduction. We have a timeframe over the European Commission’s report – by the end of this year. There are no changes here, and respectively we hope for [a decision in] 2016. We’ll do our best to make this period of adoption of the EU and EP decision as prompt as possible, so that citizens of Ukraine could travel without visas at the beginning of 2016, and everything [will be] done for that,” Director of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s EU Department Vsevolod Chentsov said during the press conference “No Visa on Thursday: Will the Rada Unblock Visa Cancelation for Ukraine?” in Kyiv on Oct. 7.
