You're reading: Ukraine to hire US APCO Worldwide to improve image of LNG terminal project

The State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine will hire U.S.-based APCO Worldwide Inc. to consult and assist in improving the image of a project for the construction of an LNG terminal in Ukraine and inform potential clients about the conditions of the project's implementation.

As the agency reported in the Visnyk Derzhavnykh Zakupivel state procurements bulletin, December 12, 2012 was the date of acceptance of APCO Worldwide’s proposal.

The services are estimated at $330,000 without VAT. The U.S. company will advise the agency from the day of the conclusion of an agreement to the end of the current year.

When justifying the choice of a one-bidder tender, the agency said that APCO Worldwide has got experience in communication support and PR in large-scale projects around the globe and can provide professional communication and PR support to the national LNG Terminal project. In particular, the U.S. company will be tasked to establish and support ties with influential international mass media in order to ensure positive coverage of events aimed at securing Ukraine’s energy independence due to the construction of the LNG terminal, provide political support by key LNG exporter countries and Turkey namely in LNG transportation through the Bosporus and Dardanelles.
