According to the statement, servicemen from 15 countries participating in the exercises will start arriving in Lviv region on July 13. A total of 1,400 servicemen will take part in the exercises.
First Deputy Commander of the 8th land force corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Viacheslav Nazarkin will head the exercises from the Ukrainian side. The U.S. side will be represented by Commanding Officer of the land forces of the U.S. Army Europe, Colonel David Markovski.
The participants of the exercises will train to carry out a wide range of tasks, including attacks and defense, as well as peacekeeping tasks.
The scenario of the exercises will be based on the situation in Zabul Province in Afghanistan.
The exercises will last until July 27.
