You're reading: Ukrainian government did not receive resignation request from Deputy PM Voschevsky

The Ukrainian Cabinet of ministers has not seen Deputy Prime Minister Valery Voschevsky's written resignation request, Deputy Prime Minister Hennadiy Zubko said.

“There has only been a statement by Mr. Liashko [Oleh Liashko] that he [Voschevsky] would tender his resignation. You know that it is the parliament that accepts resignations, and therefore he is supposed to show and announce this,” Zubko told journalists in Kyiv on Sep. 1 when asked whether Voschevsky had formally tendered his resignation.

It was reported earlier on Sep. 1 that, as the Radical Party parliamentary faction withdrew from the ruling coalition, Voschevsky, a member of this party, announced his decision to step down.
