Ukrainian troops have seized control over the border checkpoint in Izvaryne, Luhansk region, the press center of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) has reported.

The troops completed the task of restoring and unblocking the Ukrainian border and taking the border checkpoints in Chervonopartyzansk and Izvaryne, the ATO press center reported on Friday, July 11.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) said the Izvaryne checkpoint is controlled by militia.

“Izvaryne is under our control. There is no fighting there at this moment,” the LPR spokesperson told Interfax on Friday.

“Currently, the checkpoint is closed because of a Ukrainian army sniper operating in that area,” the spokesperson said.
