You're reading: Ukrainian military plan to finish equipping their positions in Donbas by end of October

The Ukrainian military continue to equip their positions in Donbas taking advantage of the ongoing lull, the press service of the Ukrainian army operation in the country's eastern regions said on its Facebook account on Oct. 13.

“In particular, most facilities near Artemivsk have already passed
inspections of the Defense Ministry’s commissions. The degree of other
[facilities’] readiness is 90 percent, and efforts to equip the positions will
be completed before the end of the month,” the press center said.

At the same time, measures continue in the Donetsk region to detect
and defuse explosive items both at the frontline and in rearward areas.
In the past week, Armed Forces sappers have found a large number of
mines, shells and projectiles of various calibers and have safely
disposed of them at one of the firing ranges.

Situation was quiet overnight into Oct. 13, with militia forces of
the self-proclaimed republics continuing to observe the ceasefire, the
press center said.
