You're reading: Ukrainian warship to be handovered from Crimea

Ukraine and Russia have agreed on a plan to return ships and vessels that were in Crimea to the Ukrainian Navy.

Among the watercraft to be returned are the corvette Ternopil and the
minesweeper Cherkassy, sources in the Ukrainian Navy Command told
Interfax-Ukraine. The date for the removal of the large landing ship
Kostiantyn Olshansky has yet to be confirmed, given the need to clear
the navigating channel in Lake Donuzlav.

The preliminary data suggest that the plan includes the submarine
Zaporizhia, but there is no final decision yet about its return to the
Ukrainian Navy.

A team that will be handling the ships’ transfer from Sevastopol to
Odesa has already been sent. On May 6 it will hand over to Ukraine the
sanitary boat Sokal, the gunboat Dobropillia, tug Dubna, the
communications boat Korosten and the diving vessel Pochaiv.

On May 7 Ukraine is to receive the sea tug Korets and the harbor tug Krasnoperekopsk.

Under the plan, the handover of ships and vessels will continue through May 17.
