You're reading: Ukrainians evacuated from Nepal finally flying to Ukraine

An Il-76 aircraft of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, which brings Ukrainians back home from Nepal, left Delhi for Baku on April 5 at 06.35 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported.

“On May 6, at 06:35 Kyiv time, the Il-76 left Delhi for Baku. In particular, 76 Ukrainian citizens and 11 foreigners [from Georgia, Poland, Russia and France] are evacuated,” according to the ministry’s tweet.

As reported, the Il-76 of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine took passengers on board and left for Kyiv. The plane had to make a technical stop in Delhi on its way to Ukraine to refuel the airplane and for staff to have a rest.

Later the media said that the aircraft punctured a wheel when landing in Delhi, nobody was injured.
