PJSC Ukrtransgaz will spend Hr 400 million on preparations for the heating season which started in May, the press service of the company has reported.

According to its data, to ensure the smooth passage of the heating season, 31 measures will be carried out.

In particular, the company plans to overhaul 34 km of trunk gas pipelines, reconstruct and repair 269 gas distribution stations, inspect 544 underwater and 249 surface transition pipeline sections, and examine 335 km of pipelines.

The press service noted that for a rapid response to possible crises it annually creates a reserve of pipes, spares, valves and control equipment, as well as chemicals with a volume of almost 1,200 tonnes.

Ukrtransgaz, 100 percent owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates a system of trunk gas pipelines and 12 underground gas storage facilities of the country. The capacity of the Ukrainian gas transportation system at the inlet is 288 billion cubic meters, at the output – 178.5 billion cubic meters, including to the countries of Europe – 142.5 billion cubic meters, Moldova – 3.5 billion cubic meters.
