The State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) is processing applications to transport fans from Sweden and Germany during the Euro 2012 European football championship.

"Jointly with our Polish colleagues, we’re working on the transportation of 1,500 fans from Sweden to Kyiv. Championship guests will be transported under the following scheme: From Sweden to Gdynia by ferry, to Gdansk by overland transport, and by rail to Chelm (all towns in Poland) where they will pass through customs procedures and will take Ukrainian trains to the Ukrainian capital. Three trains will be put on for the Swedish fans," the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia reported.

In addition, there is an application to transport 800 German fans to Lviv. Polish railways will bring the Germans from Frankfurt (Oder) to Przemyśl in Poland, and Ukrainian railways are to organize a train from Przemyśl to Lviv.

One of the leading travel agencies is in talks with Ukrzaliznytsia on organizing special tourist trains that will run between the cities that will host Euro 2012 matches. Ukrzaliznytsia will draw up a special schedule for the said train.

"Today the travel agency plans to lease 13 compartment cars and two café cars," reads the report.

In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia said that during Euro 2012 daily high-speed trains and traditional night trains will run between Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv and Donetsk.
