Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to recalculate from April 2012 insurance benefits granted to people who were disabled as a result of industrial accidents.

He said at a government meeting on Wednesday that after the recalculation, such categories of people would receive an additional Hr 500 in monthly payments.

"The need to improve health is the same for all, and it does not depend on the year of injury. Therefore, I’m ordering a gradual recalculation of insurance payments, starting from April this year," Yanukovych said.

He said that such payments would be given to 190,000 people, mostly those working in the spheres with high levels of injury.
