Ukraine should finish installing heat and water meters in all housing units, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

Yanukovych has assigned this task to the regional development, construction, housing and utilities Minister and members of the National Utilities Regulatory Commission during a meeting in Crimea, the presidential press service reported.

According to member of the National Utilities Regulatory Commission Yuriy Khivrych, as of today only 40% of flats have been equipped with water meters, 23% have heat meters.

First Vice Premier, Economic Development and Trade Minister Andriy Kliuyev earlier said that the Ukrainian government plans in 2012 to allocate UAH 3.3 billion to equip all houses with heat meters.
