Brussels - The EU leadership intends to act jointly with Ukraine to sign the Association Agreement at the Eastern Partnership Summit in November, 2013.

“My colleagues and I have confirmed the joint intent to make every effort to sign this agreement during the Eastern Partnership Summit initiative, which will be held in Vilnius in November 2013,” Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych told reporters in Brussels on Monday, commenting on the results of the Ukrainian-EU summit.

The present meeting with the EU leadership was a good reason to discuss the results of Ukraine’s work to meet EU expectations “in the context of further transition of Ukrainian-EU relations to a format of political association and economic integration,” Yanukovych said.

Yanukovych said that in general he was satisfied with the summit results. This day is a landmark in the Ukrainian-EU relations, he said.

“We have met in Brussels, the capital of European integration, to evaluate together the progress in the Ukrainian-EU relations and to agree on our actions on the short term,” he said.
