You're reading: Yanukovych orders Kyiv authorities to draft construction projects for transport infrastructure

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has charged Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov with drawing up construction and modernization projects for transport infrastructure facilities and to improve transport in the capital.

A respective decree on the results of a presentation of Kyiv’s development strategy until 2025 dated August 26 has been posted on the president’s Web site.

Yanukovych also ordered Popov, Ukrainian Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Mykola Zlochevsky, and Head of Kyiv Regional State Administration Anatoliy Prysiazhniuk to withdraw 1,879 hectares of land from the Kyiv municipal association of green construction and green areas maintenance, Kyivzelenbud, and transfer it to Holosiivsky National Park by October 1, 2011.

In addition, the president ordered by December 1 the submission of proposals concerning the expansion of the Holosiivsky Park using the lands of the Dniprovski Ostrovy and Holosiivsky regional landscape parks, the Kozynsky national landscape reserve, the Zhukiv Ostriv landscape reserve of local importance, and the Koncha-Zaspa woodland park.

Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov, the Council of Ministers of Crimea, the heads of regional administrations, Kyiv and Sevastopol City State Administrations will resolve the issue of resettling the residents of the old housing. By October 1, 2011 they will have to analyze the problems connected with resettlement of the residents of old houses, which are to be reconstructed, and settle the issue.
