Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has ordered Interior Minister Anatoliy Mohyliov to personally control the investigation into the murder of an Israeli pilgrim who was killed on September 26.

Yanukovych gave a relevant order to the interior ministry at a meeting on Monday, the president’s press service reported.

The citizen of Israel died of knife wounds in Uman, Cherkasy region.

It was preliminary established that the Israeli citizen was stabbed with a knife after a conflict with local citizens. Two suspects have been detained.
